Students wishing to get credit for this course as an advanced physics elective (i.e. 300-level) must complete an independent programming project of their choice. This project will be due May 12.
Projects are on physics topics chosen by the students. The finished projects should include the programming code used to solve the problem, any necessary data files, and a paper describing the project and the results of the projects. The paper should be done in a format simlar to a formal lab report. Introduce the background to your problem, describe the methods you used to analyze the problem, present your results, and discuss them.
Since the projects will be posted on this site, the papers should be written in a portable file format, not doc or docx. All of these materials should be sent to me with the subject "Physics 322 Project". The projects will be graded on both analysis of the physical problem in question and the code used to analyze the problem. If possible some cases of the problem should analyzed that can be solved experimentally or analytically in order to check that the code is correct.
